About Us
We provide outstanding childcare and education for children aged between six weeks and eight years old at our three beautiful nurseries in Lincolnshire. We run nurseries in Swineshead, Boston and Alford.
We offer a flexible and fully inclusive service weekdays from 7am until 6.30pm for 51 weeks of the year. We also offer Monti’s Children’s Club in Alford and Swineshead, providing before and after-school (Swineshead setting) and holiday care for children aged between four and 11 years.
Over the years, we have picked up a number of nominations and awards: in November 2017 we won two awards at the NMT National Nursery Awards, for Nursery Practitioner of the Year and Operations Manager of the Year.
We have also been a finalist in the Nursery World Awards and the Bateman Awards Linkage Community Trust Employer of the Year; we won the Boston College Apprentice Employer of the Year and the Lincolnshire and Rutland Work-based Learning Award Employer of the Year in 2009; we won the Boston Standard Small Business of the Year in 2008; and we were highly commended in the Nursery Chain of the Year at the Nursery World Awards in 2011.
Our Senior Nursery Manager Kristina Johnson oversees all our settings. Kristina has been with us since we opened our first nursery in Swineshead in 2002; she holds Early Years Professional Status and has an honours degree in Children’s Nursing.
What makes our nurseries the first choice for parents and carers is the unique combination of long-standing, dedicated and qualified nursery staff who work out of beautiful and homely nursery settings with amazing gardens, creating the ideal environment for children to learn and explore through play. Our nurseries really do feel like a home from home for the children in our care.
Our Ethos
At Mon Ami, our ethos is centred around creating a nurturing, home-from-home environment where children can thrive through purposeful play. Guided by our motto, ‘Play with a Purpose’, we support children to become confident, independent, and curious learners, ready for school and life beyond.
Our team is one of our greatest strengths – highly qualified, passionate and committed. Our children benefit from a wide breadth of knowledge and expertise across the team, ranging from Level 3 qualified practitioners with decades of hands-on experience at Mon Ami to staff with Early Years Professional Status, Qualified Teacher Status, and even backgrounds in neonatal care. We also have ELKLAN-trained practitioners who specialise in supporting speech, language and communication, as well as staff trained in Makaton to aid inclusive communication. This diversity of training allows us to support children’s development with insight, sensitivity, and a deep understanding of individual needs.
Each Mon Ami nursery is unique but united in quality, with beautiful indoor spaces and inspiring outdoor environments, including landscaped gardens across several acres at our Alford setting. We work in close partnership with families through our open-door policy, regular updates via Tapestry, and a shared commitment to supporting every child’s development.
We are proud to have received national and local recognition, including awards from Nursery World, NMT, Boston College and Boston Business Awards, reflecting our dedication to excellence in early years education.
Meet the Leadership Team
Samantha Britton has been named as one of the UK’s 10 most influential people in childcare. Samantha is completely driven by her wish to provide high-quality childcare for families regardless of their circumstances. Her passion for creating the right environment for children can be seen across the company – if the environment is right then the children are going to be happy, confident, settled and willing to learn. She is not an owner who sits back and lets others do the work – she is fully committed and will do whatever it takes to provide the right care for children.

The company was founded in 2002 when owners Samantha and Jarrod Britton opened their first nursery in Swineshead. For over 20 years, Jarrod has been helping to establish an impeccable reputation in childcare for Mon Ami Nurseries.
Early Years Professional Status
Kristina is our Senior Nursery Manager, managing Mon Ami Alford but also overseeing all three of our settings. She will certainly be a familiar face to many of you! Kristina has been with Mon Ami since our establishment in 2002, coordinating and supporting all the settings, ensuring they are functioning to the highest standards possible and, ultimately, ensuring that children have access to the best possible opportunities for learning, development and growth. Kristina comes from a nursing background and holds a Bachelor of Nursing (Hons) degree with a children's nursing specialisation. She holds Early Years Professional Status and is Mon Ami’s senior SENCo and Safeguarding Lead, supporting all other SENCos across our nurseries.
Over the years, Kristina has picked up numerous awards including being Highly Commended in the Early Years Professional Award at the Nursery World Awards and winning Operations/Regional Manager of the Year at the NMT National Nursery Awards.
Kristina is hugely dedicated to Mon Ami and goes over and above to ensure exceptional outcomes for all the children across our nurseries.

Level 3 Qualified, working towards Early Years Teacher Status
I think it's safe to say that I've been a part of Mon Ami in some way, shape or form for as long as I can remember! As a child, I attended Mon Ami Swineshead and was looked after by many of the same faces I see and work alongside today.
I returned to Mon Ami to work in administration alongside my university studies. After graduating, I took on a more full-time role and am now increasingly involved in all aspects of Mon Ami. I am currently undertaking a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification to support this, as well as extensive supplemental training.
Being able to watch the nursery I grew up in evolving, expanding and continuously improving over the years has been really special for me. Mon Ami has given me so many happy memories and to now be a part of that myself is a privilege.
