Laura is new manager at Swineshead
We're very pleased to welcome Laura Croucher to Swineshead as our new nursery manager. An early years specialist with an interest in how children learn language, Laura has relocated from London to Lincolnshire to take up the role. She spent four years working for the nursery chain Kids Unlimited in London and has been working as a nanny in the capital for the past four years. “I did my degree in English language and linguistics at Roehampton University,” said Laura. “We studied quite a lot about how children acquire language, which I found fascinating. I wanted to go into teaching so I spent a year working at Kids Unlimited in Teddington and studying for my Early Years Professional Status qualification. “I hadn’t planned on staying but within a year I was made up to room supervisor, and I eventually worked my way up to a senior position.” After four years at Kids Unlimited Laura’s career changed direction and she began working as a nanny. “I knew I wanted to work with young |
children but after four years of nannying I realised it wasn’t quite the career for me, so I decided to look for managerial jobs in the nursery sector. I’ve been quite picky waiting for the right job to come along!” She started work at Mon Ami on Tuesday (29th August) and is sure she’s made the right decision. “Mon Ami feels like a nice place to work – it’s got a homely feel to it, unlike some purpose-built nurseries which can feel a bit institutional. The children are looked after in a lovely environment where they can learn and feel at home.” Samantha Britton, who owns Mon Ami with her husband Jarrod, welcomed Laura to the team. “We had a number of very good candidates with different backgrounds but Laura stood out because of her experience and because her ethos fits in with ours. “She’s really hit the ground running and we’re delighted to have her managing our Swineshead nursery.” |
