Special delivery for Swineshead bookworms!

After taking delivery of their new hard-earned book collection last week from Usborne Books, children at our Swineshead nursery can’t wait to turn the pages! 

In February and March this year we held a sponsored read for two weeks in aid of our book collection. The event coincided with World Book Day on 7^th March 2018.

The nursery children received sponsorship in return for ten minutes reading at home every day for two weeks.

Across all four of our nurseries we raised £577.05 in total, and we were helped by donations from local businesses: Ashwood Builders in Swineshead donated £75, Duncan & Toplis donated £50 and Drayton Motors donated £100.

Usborne Books also donated, bringing the final total to £1,200.

Our Senior Nursery Manager Kristina Johnson said: “After their fundraising efforts earlier this year, the children are pleased to finally receive the new books. They love reading and we’re always keen for them to read from an early age in all our nurseries.

“A huge thanks to all the sponsors - their support will make a big difference.”
